The Heart Behind the Story

Long before she became an author, Wendy Darcy discovered the magic of books in the quiet corners of her local library, where weekly visits with her grandfather sparked a lifelong love of reading. She often borrowed ten to twenty books each week, and that passion led her to a rewarding career as an Early Childhood Teacher in Texas, before becoming a K–5 Reading Specialist and Writing Coach in Waltham, Massachusetts, where she has inspired young readers for nearly two decades.

Today, Wendy brings that same love for reading and literacy to her own stories. Inspired by her beloved Norwegian Forest Cat, Sophie, she creates heartwarming adventures that celebrate curiosity, imagination, and the joy of discovering the world through a child’s eyes. Wendy lives in Maynard, Massachusetts.
